Last night i went to the
basment to do a load of
laundry. Checked on my
12" RTC,Suncat, and my Myan
cichlid. All was well. Came back
down this aftenoon, to swich loads
over and everybody dead. I'm
quite upset. Have no clue why.
Guess I'll start over.

If I was forced to guess, it sounds like they suffocated - oxygen level dropped/plummeted in the water. Nothing else kills that fast, excluding foul play (soap, detergent, grease, lubricant... or potassium cyanide, etc. added to the water). Run away heaters may do it too but that is 2 orders of magnitude rarer of an event than bubbler going off etc.

Albeit, laundry makes me think of detergents, either on hands on in the air.

Sorry and good luck. Don't give up.

I agree with this big time

i would also chexk for contaniments. before you restock u may want to add fresh carbon to your filter and run it for a day. lack of o2 is possible but unlikely if you had really any kind of filter on there.

Yeah man sorry to hear about the loss. If you figure out what went wrong let us know. Maybe we can learn something new or just take the warning

weird, if they were suffocating they'd be at the top of the water trying to breath.

Electrocution, also are the bodies intact, did someone go on a killing spree and killed everybody (somebody fought back was killed and mortally wounded the killer)
