Howdy,

The stand for my 210 gal All-Glass tank arrived yesterday. Looks a little shaky for supporting a weight of about one ton :uhoh: . Does anyone of you have that setup (72x24x29 tank, solid pine stand)? And how confident are you regarding the stand?

In the meanwhile, I am thinking about how to brace it a little ...

Thanks a lot,
HarleyK

The stand was built to hold all of that weight...It is the oak finish pine...It is alot sturdier than the pressed partical board...I have a 125, that when I bought it, came with the partical board stand...the center brace starded to buckle in and I was sooo afraid of the thing collapsing on me...We went and bought the solid pine oak finish stand and its sooo much better! Did you have the stand shipped to you? I would call ALL-GALSS and see if they can tell you how to brace it a little better...
Here is the number for them - (414)421-9670 unfortunatley I do not have an 800 number for them...
GOOD LUCK!!
Jen

And thanks for the reply.

You're right, mine was built for that weight ... but so was your original stand for the 125 gal ...

Gee, maybe I'm just paranoid. I sent an e-mail to All-Glass, let's see what they say. Whereas they can't really say anything other than "it'll be okay". After all, they sell that stuff.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Anyone else who can help me get over my paranoia? :headshake :headshake

Well thanks! However...I would never buy a partical board stand, but in the case of my 125, it came as a full set up for 425 bucks, I could not pass it up!!!!...It is "supposed" to take the weight....but what happens to "pressed" wood when it gets wet? EXACTALLY, it warps and puffs up like a balloon...lol...That is why I ONLY sell the solid wood stands...If anyone wants a "cheep" stand, I tell them what could happen to it, and then they change their minds...its actuall a great way to sell the solid pine stands! lol
Glad I could help!

What does the 210g stand do when you put pressure on it?

uhh :naughty: you sell stands.... Have you ever heard of an All-Glass stand collapsing (note: a no would greatly easy my mind ;) )

NeonTetraFan, it holds me just fine. But I weigh less than 1/10 of what I expect the tank to weigh ... (almost makes me wish I was overweight to put that stand to a better test )

Thanks a lot guys, keep posting :feedback:

I work for a pet supply distributer...and NO...we have NEVER had a stand sent back because it collapsed....Don't worry hun...It will be fine! They are light, and SEEM to be unstable...But they are made to hold all the weight of the tank, plus the water and whatever decorations you may be putting into it. Just make sure its level and put onto the stand properly, this will take the stress off of the tank...YES I said tank...level it length wise and width wise...What are you putting the stand on...cement, carpet, wood floor?

Well, since I am not sure if the other levels can support that weight per area, it'll be in the basement: concrete floor with carpet. It's where the guinea pig lives and where I have my office :D

Thanks, Jen
