im starting a all male tank and will getting a bigger tank over time was wondering if this tank would work in a 55g for awhile
2x hybrid peacocks
1x ruby red peacock
1x ruby red albino peacock
1x ob peacock
1x benga or blue neon peacock
1x regal peacock
2x blue dolphin haps
1x electric yellow mbuna
1x elongus mbuna
2-3x acei mbuna
wanting over stock to lower aggression

I would not add mbuna with peacocks. It may work for a short period of time before the mbuna mature, but usually once they mature they are too aggressive. You could do mbuna and haps or peacocks and haps - but I would not suggest mbuna and peacocks.

I understand you chose some of the least aggressive mbuna, but they are still usually too much for the peacocks. They may not necessarily bully the peacocks, but they are quicker and will out compete for food. Also, their constant movement sometimes stresses the peacocks out as well.

I would agree with ecoli as far as temperament, but they are still more active than peacocks and will outcompete for food.

If you do try to add some mbuna there is no problem as long as you are prepared to take action if necessary. There are plenty of people who are able to make it work with peacocks and mbuna, but usually there are problems. Good luck.

Hybrid peacocks = OB Peacock IMHO. As far as adding mbuna to the Hap/peacock all male tank, I wouldn't suggest it BUT it CAN work. I think you can get away w/ yellow electric and yellow tail acei.. but mind you that elongatus are very mean!
