im sure this has been talked about
but my tank will not clear up...... ive always used HTH pool filter sand for my tanks but they didnt have any so i went cheap and got the all purpose sand that ive heard ppl using and stuck it in a 20 gallon... and wow. i think all i did was waste 4 bucks and a half a day. its been about 20 hours now and still cloudy. the slightest movement from the sand just stirs it back up.

anyone else used this crap? what can i do or should i just take it out and wait for more pool filter sand?

i tossed some feeder fish in there and there doing ok with it cloudy but i cant see them if the go passed half the tank

only what you all ready know, water changes.

btw i have used paving sand before, its good looking but never again its too much work.

yea im really regretting this sand... ive always heard how natural it looks.... i didnt know they meant the water would look so natural to. like it came from the gulf

did you rinse it before hand? I always put it in a bucket, tilt it so that the water has a good flow when coming out, but doesn't let the sand fall over, and then take the hose and put it on full blast for like 5 minutes or until the water starts running clear, making sure to wash all of it.

It will clear up in a couple of days.....
