All sump and no tank.....

Am I wasting my time keeping my sump with matrix coral and japmat going while I work on the tank?
Will the cycle keep going if I just feed it??....

As long as you have food there will be bacteria in there to break it down.

I wouldn't say wasting your time if your turn around isn't that big for the tank work you are doing as a cycle is not that much fun but it depends.

I guess if your tank work time is going to be more than an average cycle time you might be wasting time doing it, but how much work is it really to put food in your sump or ammonia?

Hey thanks I figure if I keep feeding it it should keep the cycle going till I'm ready to start the tank again

Update.....
Tank is running and fully cycled in a few days- nice and quick.
Tank was out of action for a month , I just kept the sump running and putting the waste from my other fully stocked tank into sump- sweet azzzz
