All the signs off ich

My fish have been displaying all the signs of ich... Lethargic.. No appetite... Laying on the bottom.. Occasionally going to the top for air... Rubbing and banging off decorations In the tank.. But I don't see any white spots on them. What could be the problem.. They are jack dempseys so it's hard to see what's on the body.

Almost all parasites create similar symptoms. Could be anything from hexamita to flukes. I would treat them with a mixture of metro and prazi, which is sold as General Cure; it should treat the majority of issues. Of course be sure your water parameters are in check before applying meds.

Ya but how do I know what it is.. I shouldn't just treat my fish for something I know nothing about.

You can then take it to a vet for an appointment they would know best. If this was my fish I would use the recommended treatment above plus high temps.

Try adding some salt and then raise temps to 85 degrees. See if they get better within a few days.

Although the tell tale white spots will show themselves quickly, if your not seeing white spots; I wouldn't suspect ich. Metro will treat ich by the way

For treating ich, I would recommend heat and salt as mentioned. Most ich meds are the most toxic out there, except for a very few

I have the api kind... I don't have anything for general cure for parasites..

All I got is salt and a heater lol and ich treatment stuff
