What guy? If it's some random dude on kijiji or CL, run away.

If it's someone you can go see and he can produce a receipt that shows the purchase to be recent, and the camera looks new, and the SN matches the receipt, then it's a pretty good deal.


Do keep in mind that warranties are not transferable with camera gear, so sometimes buying new and getting the warranty is worth a few bucks in the long run.
 
its a guy i have known from highschool. about ten years now. dont you register the camera for the warranty after u buy it?? he bought 2 of them for a cheaper price so he is selling the one im just curious how good the camera is i use a ****ty canon powershot sd960is.

I don't think so. My D3000 came with the warranty (no registration or anything like that).
 
so if he paid cash and they dont know his name all i have to do is get the reciept!

Yes. you register for warranty after buying it from a retailer, not a private seller.

It will definitely be better than your point n shoot, but only if you're willing to experiment with it. If all you want is another camera to be just like a point n shoot, you may be disappointed with it.
 
I'm looking to take alot better shots I ay around with the other camera but it's not nething special
