Guys.. anyone ever have some sorta allergy to aquarium water? This has happened to me for quiet a bit now.. times i clean the glass tanks or the pond.. esp when there is brown algae..i have to jump into the pond to clean.. post the clean up.. my forearms sorta itch..just my forearm.. it lasts for a couple of days.. and then it goes away.. there are no visible rashes or anything though.. yes i gotta ask a dermatologist but thought i'd post here.. let me know.. cheers..

p.s. i didn't know where to post so put it up here..

Sometimes the constant contact with water can dry out your skin and cause itching. This happens to me and there are no bumps or anything, just the itching and sometimes redness from me scratching lol. Dry skin kinda runs in my family though. If you think this could be it, just try using some lotion before you go to bed. I don't like using it during the day because I don't want to contaminate my tanks.

The only thing that bothers me is bloodworms. They make me itch and sneeze.

Do you have any small cuts or abrasions on your arms? The treated water could irritate that as well. I guess dry skin could count as abrasions. Might need to cut down on the showers (if possible) and use moisturizing body wash when you do. Also, look into St Johns lotion, the winter formula works wonders on dry skin.
