Some people have told me to go to Alligator Alley - I forgot why??? Please remind me.

Also, where is it?

And does the east to west section of Route 75 in southern FL cut through the Everglades, or does the Everglades have its own access roads off of 75? Is it open, or is it like a park, and have to pay to get in, fishing prohibited, etc?

If they asked you to go there, they must be hoping that you'd fall into the water and get eaten. LOL

j/k

LOL would you know why they did, though? Either cool plants, or fishing for something particular?

Just about every canal has gars, bowfin, etc. And, many now have peacock bass. There are some great areas to line fish or cast-net. Just keep an awareness of your surroundings since there are gators and snakes also sharing the good fishing spots. Along the alley are great (some not so great) places to get delicious frogs legs & gator meat.

Thanks Oddball!
