not to be hostile or contradict you, but are you sure thats an alligator gar? looks almost like a spotted gar to me... i had an alligator gar a while back n he didnt really look quite like that.

That is an alligator gar. You can tell by the snout. Lovely lookin fellow. I have a spotted gar who is 14 inches. Probably not looking to trade gar for gar. Good luck to ya.

Thanks for the ID. I cant keep him on the bass tank because he cant compete for food. The gar is solitary now. I'm actualy looking for Bass.
