What's the rule of thumb for tank mate size to not be eaten?
My resident gator is ~30" and has been alone for the past 4 years (RTCxTSN died and the 18" FLG went into the show tank).
I responded to a local re-home ad for a 2' AG with a broken back thinking I can help and that mine would like company again. The fish is only 18" if I'm being generous.
Big guy followed little guy for a few laps around the pond until I couldn't take it anymore and moved the rescue into a 90G hospital tank (not ideal).
Am I right to think that my old gar would make a snack out of the rescue? He *shouldn't* fit down his mouth, but is it ever terrifying watching them play tag.
