my LFS had a few and i was wondering what they would go for. the sizes are,

-size of a baseball

-size of a soft ball

what kind of price am i looking at?

their prices seemed way to high...

Depends in the area youre in some places they are fairly cheap others not. I would look into buying at the LFS that way you can see if its healthy and eating. But if its too much in terms of funds, look into getting one online, but you run the risk of misrepresentation.

i saw one at a local pet store that had a shell length of like 8 inches gong for 250 bucks. then i they got a 12 incher in and it was going for 350. lol

i thought the bigger they get, they should go for cheaper, cuz not many people would want a BIG turtle, just like a red ear slider..its cute when its small, but not so well when its big :o

I guess that is true in some species but some species take lots of food and maintenace to get big. and well alligator snappers are funner when they are big.

i think that in general in my area (wisconsin) no one really carries them. i am sure these were just pets brought into them cause owners didnt want them. so not only were they at a decent size, but they are also very uncommon in the pet trade here. i think them being rarely seen here made their price high.

my snapper thinks hes big...

i got him from turtleman.com and i am very happy with him...
