So I've been researching Alligator Snappers now for months and I'm finally ready to take the next step and look at buying one.... Only problem... WHERE!?!?! I can't find one anywhere!

They are illegal to own as a pet in most states with out a permit. They are also illegal to sell in most states.
I don't know about the laws in your state, but you might want to look into them. It might explain why you can't find them for sale.

What do you plan to house it in? You do understand how big they get right? Seriously, I don't think any private person has the ability to house an adult of this species. Getting a pet, means caring for it for its entire life. Can you really do that?

Good link, this breeder even offers the option of sending back the turtles once they grow too large and possibly sending a hatchling in it's place.

mine is 9.5 yrs old and has an 18 inch shell length. at 1 yr it was 4inches. 2 yrs it was 8.5 inches. at 3 yrs. it was 12 inches. at 4 yrs it was at 16inches in shell length. as you can see growth has slowed down but its put on weight and width. when i weighed it a yr ago it was at 33 pounds. i currently have it in a 300 gallon stock tank. they are awesome!!!!!
