fish food? what kind of fish food? how big is your guy? did it just lose its eye? how did that happen? how is he set up? what are water temps? how deep is the water? are you feeding live fish? what other foods is it eating. come on man, you have to give more info
it's about 11". i didnt know that it lost it's eye when i got him. i dont know the kind of fish food.it's the kind that flow on the water. the water isnt hight at all it's about 6inches higher than his shell. i gave him live fish but he couldnt catch any of them. what should i do
You could try thawing some frozen fish fillets and frozen shrimp and see if it eats them. The smell should spark it's interest.
11 inch in shell length? what size aquarium do you have him in? what size of fish are you feeding it? the missing eye might be giving it some depth perception probs. i agree with vicious, give it some fillets from your seafood market near you. otherwise, try nightcrawlers and crayfish. if its eating stuff floating in the surface try some reptomin or trout chow instead of fish food.
It probably won't eat things on the surface. It is an ambush predator that sits in wait on the bottom. Put live fish in with it or use a wooden skewer to move meat in front of its face and it should try to snatch it but make sure the meat is big enough so that it does not bite the skewer as well.
