Just got the update from Loggerhead Turtle Farm and my little guy or girl should be shipping out on September 5th for overnight delivery. I am so excited about this, and have the enclosure bought and will be setting it up Wednesday morning so it is running for almost a weak before arriving.

I read on here on another thread that Convicts are a good fish to keep with them because they breed like crazy. I have also read on the site Guppies are also good. I seem to remember them breeding pretty rapidly as well.

I will take and and all advice.

I personally would quarantine either the Convicts or Guppies before putting them in the aquarium with AST.

can they bite at this age? you tried? :D

And you will need to house it in a pond eventually?

Not biting, but will rear up in a defensive posture.
Will be working on getting it to imprint on me.
Has a ways to gho before a pond, but wife and I are are already planning it.

Thank you. I was trying to hand feed him this morning with pieces from a turkey neck. Showed no interest in it so I placed it on his rock and went to bed because I work 3rd shift. Woke up this afternoon and it was still there and he had his nose out of the water near the rock. I reached in to remove the dried up meat and he never flinched which is what he was doing the first couple of days, so I'm hoping handling him has put him at ease.
Granted I don't know the gender yet so he is a broad term.
