Alligator Snapping Turtles keepers??

Do anyone raise alligator snapping turtles? I want to know how do you take care of yours??

For good info check out turtleman.com. I don't keep any alli snappers, only commons at the nature center I work at.

Good luck with your search! Did you buy one already or are you doing research ahead of time? I hope its that second one.

I do. raise them, I mean. Search for it in MFK. Several threads about ally's.

I don't breed them or anything, but I keep one. They are the world's largest freshwater turtle. Mine is currently about 12"SCL, and lives in a 200gal plywood tank I built. They will eat pretty much anything that hits the water, I feed mine minnows, pinky mice and cocktail shrimp mostly. Some will bask but most won't.

20 gallon long, lots of drift wood, water temp of 78, good filter, constant supply of rosy reds (larger fish when hes bigger), check it every now and then to make sure hes healthy, but dont mess with him to much. they dont like being bugged.
