Hello, my names Andrew ive had fish for many years but only found out about this site a month or two ago.

When i was younger and lived at home i had two tanks, a 20 gallon, and 30 gallon High. With real rock backgrounds. I ran them for probably 8 years. Then i moved out and didnt take them with me.

Fast foward 4 years later. Im living with my Fiance at this point and she says it would be nice to have fish. I agree and we go and look at new tanks. We ended up getting another 20 gallon for 50$ complete set up. This was deffinately one of the best deals i ever got on a new tank.

We stocked it with simple community fish just so that i could start her on easy fish. That night BAM!!! 100 babies. Ended up that about 80 survived. (Orange Swordtails) But the cool thing is that 3 of them were white, one of which is completely clear. Im hoping to breed that one when it gets older.

Fast foward again to last night. Im hunting craigslist as i love to do and i found an ad for a 55 gallon Tank. Ive wanted a bigger tank for quite some time. But never had the funds to jump into it.

The ad went something like this.
"
55 gallon fishtank with stand - $99 (doylestown)

55 gallon fish tank with stand, hood, lights, and filter. Hurry this wont last."

Heres the picture he supplied to the ad in the link. Deffinately not the best picture lol.

I responded to the ad and he got back to me about 3 hrs later. I Told him id take it. After a 40 minute drive i had my new tank. Apparently right after i hung up on the phone with him someone else called and said they'd take it no questions, but luckily i got the call in before him.

What a Steal. Im so pleased with it. Now i can have more aggressive Fish, and my Fiance can keep her Happy Community tank. Best of both worlds.

Heres the current set up in my living room

Im thinking of putting in a lot of river rocks, and then picking out some Chiclids.

Any thoughts id be happy to hear or comments. Thanks for Reading.

Andrew.

Started by adding some rocks found around my apartment complex.

The tunnels i made from glass jars, covered them in sand, then covered the sand with rocks.

Welcomefish.jpgwelcome to mfk Andrew..nice tanks... look great... your in the right place.. enjoy..

Looking great mate, mabey some cichlids like the oscar fish might be good for a first monster fish, have a look on google for them, they are a great starter fish and was also one of my first monsters.

You will fall in love with them over time and they are only about $5 to buy aswell.
And welcome by the way.
Dav.

got two cichlids, one an electric blue from petco "using those awsome coupons i found on here".
They had the wrong tags up, so i got both of them for 5.99 each. Tought it was a spectacular deal.
