Almond leaves in a cat tank ???

Almond leaves that are used for breeding Betta's and treating sick or injured Betta's they also put extra tannic acid in the water.
I was wondering if this would be safe or helpful to a RTC ?

I dont think it would be benifical to a RTC.. But it does make a tank look natural...
