Almost black peacock bass

I saw this peacock at my lfs a few weeks ago I thought it might have been stressed but i was there again today and its still very dark my question is why??? Sorry for the not so great photos.

Kind of odd its the only one like that in the tank

the only thing that sucks is that as soon as the net goes in they will all be the same color anyway

I have an 12" ocell that stays dark, it has it's whole life and I kinda like it. In my tank he is low man on the totem pole and I think that's why he's dark.
