It's almost finished! I've built and painted the stand and have everything but a few rocks, water and fish in there! I've been tankless for 6 years and it feels good to be getting back into it. Stock I'm planning on is lemon tetras, L183 pleco, and a pair of zebra acara.

That being said, I have 2 questions. 1) does anyone have any recommendations on where to find the zebra acara and the L183? 2) how many lemon tetras would be reasonable? They're probably the first fish I'll add and want to get them in there as soon as the tank is stable.

Attempted pair (2-3") $100

0.5-1" minimum order: 6. $3 each

UPS Next Day Air shipping $39.99 for all orders.

You can setup a notification once they get L183 in stock

Wet Spot has Ivanacara at $20-$100 each size dependent.
Jeff at AquaticClarity sells them for $75 each.
I have acquired fish from both place, and would recommend either.

Isn't that just regular oak wood? Won't that rot in the water?

For the lemon tetras I would get a large group maybe 15 or so.

As long as it's completely dry, the bark may fungus a bit, but other than that no. Don't use wood that was just cut off a tree. Worst mistake I have ever smelled.

I like the colour of that sand/gravel mix. Are you going to add plants? If not, that substrate is pretty deep.

What are your plans for cycling this tank?
