It's a native setup, so I figured it could go here.
We still have plants to add (submergent and emergent), the canopy to finish, and the electrical box to do, but the bulk is done. Our pearl river map was in there alone with some rosy reds until we felt like it was perfect for our bluespots, orangespots, and some darters. There's also crays, and today I planted some things we've collected.
My daughter was running by as I took this photo:
Temporarily, there's a heat lamp clamped on the end where the driftwood emerges from the water for the turtle to bask. The other two lamps have plain ol' flourescents for now. We've done everything ourselves except make the tanks themselves (the 150 and the 40br sump).
This is the sump before it was put in.
The pump is a 3300gal/hr but it's throttled back. The tank is a slow riverine tank.
The sand is a mix of 3M colorquartz colors in brown and buff. Above in the planters we've filled with a special pond plant soil and gravel, and over those spots we've placed some moss for now. It makes everything smell really good, in my opinion.
That's a small glimpse into this project. It's been driving me nuts!
Thanks for looking. Sorry about the pics, I'm no photographer.
