Almost had a heart attack, thought my Cleaner shrimp was toast.

Looked into the tank to see my Cleaner Shrimp discolored and shredded. Had it for a week, I thought that was $30 down the drain. Then I noticed a second one, healthy on the other side of the tank. Took my brain 5 seconds to realize it had molted.

I should have known better, I went through the exact same thing when my blue crayfish molted. I saw a hollow shell, thought he died and got picked apart. Lesson learned for the second time.

my crabs have done that to me a few times

but when they actually get killed, they smell pretty bad

yea, you gotta let it dry out for like a week

Good luck with that with most of the shrimp . It is much easier to save with crustaceans with stiffer shells like crabs etc. I usually leave mine in there for the shrimp/crabs/pods to munch on to suppliment their diets.
