Hello everyone! Havent been here in a while. I am down to only 2 hybrids now after 4 of my flowerhorns passed away. Not sure why as they never got injuries, had good water, no bloat or hex? Just found em dead one after the other even in different tanks! Fed em only NLS. Still love fish but those guys were a lil too spendy to up and die that young! On a good note I do still have my beast of a red texas and my short body fader! Those 2 are doing great in my 210! Their new tank mates are 10 young vieja synspila, clown loaches and my pink tail chalceus and a young pair of dovii (I know if heard it plenty of times!). I will get rid of (sell) what I dont want as they grow. I previously had flowerhorn in all 3 of my tanks, now I have the ones listed above and a 60 with 2 discus, 3 rams and 3 angelicus botia. My 75 is now a tanganyikan community you could say. I think Im gonna stay away from getting any new hybrids for a while but I definately still support them and love the mystery of what they will become! I will definately raise the fry if a red texas, sb flowerhorn, dovii or vieja syn decided to make some magic happen:naughty: ! LOL Basically just wanted to say hey and see what was going on in here!

For how long did you keep your FH before he died?.....

I have one who is going to be 2 years old next feb/march.

I think that if FH lives at least from two to three years it is worthy to get them, and if my fish dies I'd rush to get for another, lol!, It is not that I wouldnt care if he dies, but we should understand that they are actually going to die at some point eventhought I'm not quiting them because of that.

Cheers.

They were around 2 years or so. Im so used to fish living a lot longer than that and for the price its a tough loss! My pink tail chalceus is over 5 years old and maybe half through its life. They are like family after a while so loosing them is rough! I may be wrong but I think they are bred to be infertile and have short lives by the breeders of "high quality flowerhorn". Still i think they are great fish! I really miss the guy pictured on the left!

More red rexas pics! I seen some in some other threads and he looks mean. Sorry about your flowerhorns though.
