self explanatory, what am I gonna need to build this thing without breaking the bank? as far as dimensions go I was thinking 56x24x16", or a little over 90 gallons. I only plan on putting one panel of glass in the front of the thing.

I'll be honest with you. People usually go the plywood route when they're planning a big big tank. Cost and weight of a plywood tank is way better than cost and weight of a similar sized glass or acrylic tank.

This is quite a small build you're planning. Or is this build more of a practice type project just to see how you go on before, ultimately, building a far bigger one?

Aside from being too small, it's not an efficient shape for plywood IMO.

Sealing the plywood against water is a big deal. It is expensive and takes lots of time to do right.

The epoxy, paint, sealant & wood glue and screws alone can easily cost $200+ to do that tank, PLUS the wood and glass. It has to cure a long time, and the sealant must cure.
I don't know where you live, but I can buy a 125g for $400, a 90g for $300 and a 75 for $229 here, and set it up today.

BUT, if you want a custom built-in this will all be moot. ;)

alright then, so i'll go with building a glass one but where would i get glass thick enough for a tank that size? (and relatively cheap)
