Not much to look at but you should have no problem keeping them.

Not really, you will still have problems with pelagic fish. White perch and its relatives are designed to following pelagic baitfish such as alewife and shad. Put these pelagic fish in cramped tank they will bashed into the sides of the tank, if they feel nervous or not enough numbers of white perch. You will need a 1000+ gals to house a group of white perch. I have seen them in smaller tanks and their noses are always infected and bruised. I wont surprised if they are starving if you kept a single white perch alone.

Isn't they are also invasives and probably prohibited? I know the white perch are prohibited in Minnesota.

white perch eat fish eggs, insects, minnows (baby shad, and baby alewifes, and other small fish), crayfish. they are invasive but are not on the list of ones you cant transport, as these you can eat these unlike gobys and such others. ill probly keep a small group 3-5

I could say that about a lot of different species of fish people keep.

you also know that White perch are found in lakes? so thy rely don't need to follow other fish around. I've never had a problem keeping them.

Why not keep yellow bass instead, if you are determined to keep a Morone species? Better yet, just don't keep any Morone until you have a big enough tank to house them properly.

I dont think its a case that some here dont like your choices, as much as they have some experience with them and want to save you the problems, I fished a lot at Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley and have caught a lot of white perch, there mostly 6-8 inches and bigger, they are pretty good to eat, but i could never afford them the housing they would require at that size other than the smaller ones and then only for a while, as thsy do get large. Dont give up though, If you keep tryin youre bound to find somthing we like :naughty:

There are no white perch (Morone americana) in those lakes, Jim; do you have pictures of the species you're referring to?

It would have to be an Xray lol. and it could very well be other than white perch, I caught them mostly below the dam in the tailwater. I stand corrected, they were white bass. Youll have to allow for my old timers disease. :) glad you whippersnappers are around to keep me straight.
