LOL Im a lucky girl to have the puffers of my life including Nooki the fahaka, Calcifer the Abei and Fitzgig the Hairy. Recently just got a promotion and so I lied going to be going for another last tank. I have for the last couple of tanks tried to get a congo miurus puffer which to be honest are near impossible to get down here. Currently there is a sandy one I could order through mail order and may be possibilities of them ordering more but extremely limited and seasonal.

Other possibilities what are thoughts on:
1. perhaps a palembang and suvatti mix in a 250 litre - read of this mixture have been drawn to palembangs on seeing one in the past, unsure on their activity, do they do well on their own?

2. Perhaps 5 SAPs in a 250 litre? I have seen an excellent deal on a gorgeous 250 litre tank with all the trimmings, the only problem is it is cuboid and unsure how SAPs would cope as know they are hard to settle and need high currents and length? (Aware of teeth trimming on these)

3. May look for a decent 25g-30g for a miurus and hold out, I do have to try these puffs out to know the right ones for me, but unsure what to do?

Any thoughts comments great. Someone recommended to me to get the 250 litre and wait to find "the one" though generally Im impatient and unless it is a suvatti or dwarf puff, they are not common down here sadly..

Sorry for the blab guys, as always thanks for all the help and advice.
Nooki I have had since May now and he is growing well and very interactive, one of my special little pups.
Calcifer is a grouchball and likes croaking first thing in the morning and now has recently got a tendancy to puff up if no one is giving him attention when sat next to the computer!
Fitzgig is my latest addition and got beaten up by Gizmo until I took her back, but is coming on in leaps and bounds and surprised that he has eaten most foods given to him, I love his cirri and he begs!

I am in sunny Bournemouth :) Pompey fish shops? Havent ever heard of it! Is it fairly new/local? Will have a gander now, thanks :)

Another avenue I have just thought of, both me and my partner have always loved black ghost knife fish but unsure of tank dimensions - any advice?

How about a nice group of dwarf/pea puffers? Might be a cute tank. I like my Brown puffer (monotrete turgidus). Maybe you can do some figure 8's if you wanna try brackish. Although a group of SAP's is a nice sight.

pompey = portsmouth ;) - arundel aviaries and fish - they had one there about 6 months ago - im sure lee can get another one in for you! otherwise try tropicalfishfinder.co.uk - you might be able to order one direct to your door - great looking fish imo.

as far as BGK goes they are very inactive during daytime except for feeding - i wouldnt house more than one unless its a very large tank - they can and most often will fight! if im not mistaken the grow 14"+ and like i said they pretty much hide all day long.....

I have had pea puffers (first ever fish) and tried F8s brackish (they werent for me). SAPS are pretty and probably order in but being large cube wouldnt affect them??
Fugus are gorgeous though never seen them in the flesh, marine scares me a little though especially as we found brackish scary! LOL (I know we are wusses ;))

Depending on if you like lurkers or not, i'd probably decide against he palembang/suvatii mix... since i know as far as my Palembangs go, they act like living rocks who don't move much at all...

Miurus could be a very cool puffer if you can find an active one... my old one which passed away was rather active for a congo and definitely one of the most interesting puffers i've owned...

SAPS could be another good fun idea since you can keep a school of them quite happily in a tank although the teeth trimming may be a bit of a hassle depending on how you look at it...
