I'm getting a new 75gal tank to house an aggressive MiDevil so I have some freed up tank space in my 135gal. Current stock is:

(1) 11-12" Albino Tiger Oscar
(1) 8-9" Coatzacoalcos or Zonatum cichlid
(1) 4-5" Convict
(5) 3-4" Turquoise Rainbowfish

Ideally I'd get something like a Loisellei but i think they get too big and i'd probably be rehousing another fish in the future. The ideal fish would be something with the temperament of a Convict. Something that can hold their own but doesn't get very big. So i'm thinking a Salvini or a Red Ceibal (not much info on them). Any other suggestions for a fish that meet that criteria?

Not sure that would work with the con i already have. 2 males of closely related species or possibly a breeding pair. Not ruling it out tho since I've never tried a breeding pair in 10 years of fishkeeping.

Why female salvini and not male? Can they mate with cons?

Neets might be an option. Ive done business with Rapps. Wouldn't hesitate to get more fish from him. Id probably have to get 4-5 juvies and grow them out tho.

Honduran Red Points. The Rio Danli collection point that Rapps carries is really colorful.

Another vote for Sajica. They are hard to find sometimes, though. Get 5-6 of them, too. I bought 4, and three of them were "runts". Don't know if that's the species, or just bad supplier. But the one I have left is awesome. He doesn't put up with ANY s*&t. Chases fish off for about 2-3 inches maybe. Eats anything. Awesome color (once they're grown) and blue eyes.

Thanks for suggestions.

Any other suggestions for fish that don't closely resemble convicts? Although, i really am warming to the breeding pair idea.
