First I just want to say that I have never had to do this before. I would use clove oil but I don't have any and can't go to the store until tomorrow. My 12" FH has been a little "off" lately. I thought maybe he was dealing with some internal parasites or something so I treated him and the whole tank last week. All the other fish in the tank are acting completely normal. The water paramaters are as follows, temp 82* PH 7.6, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate 20. I just checked on him and he is breathing heavy, laying on his side, dark stress bars, and bloated looking. I'm thinking that he is too far gone with whatever is wrong with him. I have no idea how old he is or anything about his history. He's been a great fish for me and gets along with all the other fish in the tank. He is not picked on at all either. I also don't have an empty hospital tank large enough to put him in comfortably as it is currently occupied with other new fish. Does anyone have any input or ideas? I don't want to lose him but I really hate seeing him suffer so much
