Hey all,
I have a 210 that I'm rebuilding and a 550 that im building, but I'm replacing the bottom on the 210 with 3/4 inch birch ply. Tank is 7x2x2 1/2 inch thick with an 18 inch 1/2 thick top center brace. I know I need to seal the bottom up (duh) but was wondering what alternatives there are to using liquid rubber or pond shield? I was thinking something like bondo fiberglass epoxy or something similar sanded down then reapplied, then wet sanded down and reapplied again. I'm thinking this should give me a nice glassy nonporous surface that silicone will adhere to nicely. Sorry if this has been asked, a cursory search revealed nothing.
Thanks in advance!
