This give me hope. I just recently went and bought a monstera deliciosa for my big tank. I’m hoping it grows quickly so I can get more for my other tanks. It was an expensive plant by my terms lolMy rule of thumb is if it can grow hydroponically, it can probably be used for some sort of filtration. I don't think I'd do succulents or plants that require dry soil.
I've had good success with using Monstera deliciosa (never tested nitrates though) in a minimally planted/stocked tank.
