Very nice!
They get big fast. I had a group of 6 Xingus that went from 3" to 10"-12" in about 2 years.
I had to sell them because the tank I had them in is full of drift wood and they kept getting scrapped on it when a little bit of chasing started going on.
How big is this guy?

wow thats big! i cant wait till this guy gets that big. thats too bad you had to get rid of yours there great fish. and i would say 6 inches maybe im not sure ill have to hold up a ruler to the tank. he was probaly 2 inches when i got him.
im not sure really sure to tell you the truth i got it from my lfs that only sells wild caught and high quality fish so its probaly a F1. and that is dirt cheap haha someone got lucky.I figured 6"-7" from the pic. Was this guy WC or F1?
I sold them dirt cheap too $130 CDN for the group. Better to let another enjoy them then have ugly fish missing eyes and scales.

Nice!
I originally bought a group of F1 but when WC's became available from Belowwater I had to have them.
The major differences I saw was more orange and red on the fish plus the WC grew a lot faster.
One food they loved was green peas.
Now there's so many alti's coming in from so many locations I wouldn't know which to choose lol

yea these fish have alot more orange in person but i have a crappy camera and phototgraphy skill lol. i have a uaru eats greens pea but the altifrons dont like them. i have always wanted to set up a species tank with geophagus argyrostictus xingu but i heard they are very aggressive and my tank is very peaceful
Funny thing is I raised mine with my two big Uaru A maybe they caught on that it's food from them.
I too can't take a pic for the life of me no matter what camera I use they're just blah pics lol
geophagus argyrostictus are very nice. They just started coming in here this year.
I like peaceful fish too. Torn fins and all that just disappoint me and I feel like a failure when I see it.
