My crib
So I picked up what ended up being a 4-5" Geo Altifrons.
- How fast do they grow?
- When will the streamers start growing?
- When will the nice colors appear, right now he/she is quite bland?

Thanks

1) Slow, especially since yours are already sub adults. Mine have grown 2-3" in the past year and I got them at around 3-4".
2) Streamers start growing at around 3" (I have 3 juveniles in right now.) My largest Altifrons finished developing full trailers (they grow incredibly slow once they hit the length where they extend to the end of the tail) at around 4"-5"
3) Also starts at around 3" (My dominant Juvie is finally colouring up) and there colours really pop at around 5-6".

Remember that things like coloration and streamers seem to be affected by water quality, food, and the overall health and happiness of the fish. I've gotten really bland adult fish from pet stores that colored up and grew amazing finnage within a few months just from being in optimal conditions. Once it settles down and gets comfortable it should color up for you. How many do you have? It may be more comfortable (and therefore more likely to be colorful) with a group of other altifrons.

This is about a year, with 30% water changes approx 3 times per week, in a 150 gal tank.

Thanks fellas, that helps.
He's actually in a tank with some much larger Abalios that are coloring up nicely and have long streamers.
