Do we have any altum breeders here in the US?

Angels Plus had TR altums in the past. Not sure if they were bred on-site or imported though

So far... none. Only true TR bred Altums are in Germany.

There is a supplier in Canada, and I thought angelfishUSA bred altums. I could be wrong though.

There are TR Altums on Aquabid currently and Wes, a vendor on this site (Rare Fish) had some recently. Not sure if he has any stock left

AngelfishUSA or discusUSA (same owner) imported them from the german breeder. They get both orinoco and atabapo altums.

I'm interested to see reports on how hearty they are. I've seen them listed at $75 each which is a chunk of change, but not all that bad compared to wilds of comparable size with all the difficulties they bring with them. If they are on par with regular scalare in regards to heartiness, I'm definitely interested in purchasing some.

If u can, go with wild. They look better than the CB.

That's the kind of reviews I'm looking for. Personally, I can't do wilds as the pH difference is more than I want to mess with. I'm interested to see comparison pics as more captive bred Altums hit hobbyists tanks.
