I'm going to keep either one of a group of altum fish or discus with my 6" Arowana couldn't decided , so which one do you think will go better in the tank

You would be better off with some domestic strain of Discus.

why domestics? not that it's wrong but wilds look amazing and are no harder to keep. altums are much harder to find and raise. usually only sold at certain times of the year and have a high death rate from shipping and/or acclimation. I would love to have a few with my wild discus, but I won't risk the health of my entire tank.

My reply was based on Altums requiring some special care to acclamate and need some specific conditions to thrive that may not be compatable with the long term requirements of the Aro. I supose as far as domestic or Wild Discus as long as your not keeping Heckel it doesn't matter too much. I thought domestic would be easier for the op to find and might be less expensive. As far as care goes I agree not any more or less diffacult than most WC fish.

Thank you for all opinion , yes altum is always my dream angle fish I hit with some vendor who has them but they all already death , I think I'll go with discus for now , I'll post some pic as soon as I got them , and what size of discus do you think that would work better with my 6" Arowana ?

as large as you can afford and not less than 4". small juvies are not easy to care for. I hope your tank is large enough. adult discus require about 12 gals. per fish and aros can get big and need more swimming room than discus or angels.
