Happytown :)
So I was at my LFS, and I saw their German Blue Rams. They were gorgeous, and I really have wanted to keep them again for a couple months now, so I picked up a Male/Female pair. I put them into a 10g tank for holding while I set up a 20g long semi-planted just for them. I went to the Shedd Aquarium, and was gone from Sunday Morning until about 20 minutes ago. I came home to find one Ram mysteriously missing. I looked all around the tank, assuming he jumped, but found nothing. So I began to do a 50% w/c on the 10g, and when I unplugged the filter, a cut-up, no-finned little dead Ram popped out.  They were beginning to become my favourite fish, after only 2 days. So I burried the little guy (who was actually a female) into my garden. I looked back at my tank to finish the w/c, and to add insult to injury, there was it's little eyeball on the sand.  I loved that little guy even though it was so new..Moral: Always have a very small prefilter when you have small fish. :thumbsdow

Sorry for your loss. I have a Blue Ram and hes the most outgoing fish I have he comes up to me and jumpes out of the water for flakes. LOL. Here he is. This is a very old picture of him though. This is when I first got him.

I can see if I can get a decent picture of my remaining guy. :( I think I owe the LFS a visit.. I love these guys, and I really want to have more... so a female might help to produce little guys.

Not the greatest of pictures, but it was the only one I could get with him not nose-to-nose with the glass begging to get fed.

His sister/wife/mate-to-be is R.I.P. now. :(

He has alot of potential. Twice as much as mine. His markings are unique as well normally there will be no blue along the back side of the vertical black stripe through the eye. I am also goin to try my hand at breeding them. I know its tough at least what I heard. They are the worst parents out of cichlids I guess.

Yeha, I heard the same. I heard they're easy to induce spawning, but hard to raise fry and everything that comes after the eggs being laid, basically. The LFS tank was full of guys that looked just like him, except abit bigger. They also had Short Bodie and Long Fin variations. And thanks for the kind words. :) I knew he was a looker! I guess I was right.

And I'm not sure why, but it isn't letting me edit.. so here's a better picture:

sorry for your lose, i like those fish as well, never had them though, maybe ill get 2 or 3 for my 20

You should of thought. "Well hey, would he get sucked up my filter?" I learnt the hard way also, back in the day having about 58 fry of high quality swordtail get sucked up into a corner filter.
