So I was out of the loop for a while, just focused on other things instead of my first love, which is CA/SA cichlids. My wife being the understanding person she is says "go ahead and order some fish then". That`s where it starts to get difficult. I plan on ordering some N. beani, a fish that last time I was really involved (in the hobby) was not even available to us hobbyists. I have dealt with other Nandopsis so I am prepared for the mean ness and dietary stuff. I just find myself wondering if they are worth it? I mean with the amount of attention they need I could maintain several other very worthy fish. What do you think?

Too late but maybe one of the mods could move this for me. Didn`t realize I was in the media lounge, sorry.

Ofcourse it is worth it, In terms of difficult things you have to take care of in your everyday life, I am sure taking care of one fish will not be to hard for you. GO FOR IT!!! Beanii's are awesome!

I ended up ordering five beani in the hopes of getting a pair, if they live. Going to start them in a 125 with a few Dempsies about the same size.

Nice, I'm sure with the right diet in the beginning, you will be able to grow them to adulthood as long as conditions are good. Good luck, and post some pics when you get them.
