am i being lied to?

ive seen SB variants of almost any fish, and even more passed off as sb that either arent or have other defects. inspect SB fish closely for other genetic defects and stick to reputable seller. i have no idea what TRC stands for though

ive seen i think one SB rtc that truely looked like a SB rtc. to put it in perspective prob seen 20 platinum rtc over the years so im assuming they are rare, and correct me if im wrong but isnt SB fish basically a genetic mutation caused by line breeding? so about anything can be a SB? i may be wrong but this was always how i thought they were created

no lie just VERY rare. i think the post i saw on here was a FS someone in cali has like 2 of them and a few platinums imported and if i remember correctly they were 2-3x more than platinum variants. find a SB plat RTC and impress me :)

hmmm maybe not too rare noticed a few in related vids. id b curious to know what they go for, this one doesnt even look real, like a cartoon or something. look how much effort it seems to put into swimming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_udPX5_OJA&feature=youtube_gdata_player

well some one has offered me a swap for my 2 12 inch breeding pair of oscars 1 albino, 1 fire so its a fair shout by the looks of it, the rtc is only 7 inch however its not like they dont grow!

oscars the size of mine go for around £20 each over in the UK a 7 inch rtc about £60

IDK about England. SB RTC are not rare in SE Asia, which is where they are said to be produced.

I never thought it was a genetic mutation. I thought it was a result of deliberate keeping efforts. But really, IDK. Necrocanis says their backbone is the same length as normal but all folded up.

Sad as it is to say imo alot of SB fish are hard to prove... for the obviouse reason of getting x-rays ect of the vertebra for the prices they often change.. I wouldn't buy one w/out proof, also to see what kinda messed up the internal organs are... stunting is a common practice ( disgustingly unethical imo) and for what your pricing the fish against your Oscars I would bet against it being a SB. either its stunted, or a reg RTC in all likelyhood. But you never know. You could be lied to.. or the person with the cat may honestly believe it's a SB. I would ask about where he got it ect...
