Am I blocking too much light?

So I made a screen top for my 29 with black fiberglass screen, its just the normal screen so I'm not sure how big it is. It looks like I am blocking light from my dual lamp t5HO Coralife fixture with 1 10000k daylight and actinic bulbs. Do you think it is blocking too much? Thanks

Well I was PLANNING on getting a pineapple tree, torch, some zoas, hairy mushrooms and maybe some clove polyps.

Also is anyone else's Coralife daylight look more yellow than white? Or is mine burning out?

Could be burning out, do you know how old the bulbs are? T5 HO bulbs last about 8 to 10 months. I would suggest egg crate for a top on the tank. The mesh has pretty fine holes and i would imagine blocks quite a bit of light

How about I only keep it on at night? Since it seems whenever I have a jumper it is at night? So it would be topless during the day allowing light through.

The egg crate should deter any jumpers, esp if you put a weight on it. How big is the jumper in question? The weight of the egg crate itself may be enough. Have you tried a cover? I've just got my LED's sitting on top of the glass covers... Doesn't seem to be a problem. Once a week, I wipe them down with a damp towel just as a precaution, but so far, salt hasn't been an issue. Just an idea...
 
Plastic egg crate is the stuff that goes on flouresent lights in the cieling. You can buy it at fleet farm for 12 dollars a sheet
