Hello Monster fish people.

I don't like to think before I do things, but then, suddently revelations hit me hard.

I'm replacing Fluval 407 with Aqueon QuietFlow 400.
I've watched a youtube video where they've reccomended to install a booster filter before your filter:
Basically, it's a small canister that gathers all the poop, so u can put more media in the canister.

I've ordered this thing:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00CC6SCJQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this thing:
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07DJWQTN6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(I don't know if the hoses are compatible, but again, I like to think retroactively)

Will I be bottlenecking my canister with the SunSun since it's too low gallons per hour?
If so, is there anything I can use to "pre-filter" poop before it hits my canister.
Cleaning a small box of sponges is easier than dragging the whole canister to the sink,

Note: installing a sponse filter that's connected to the suction hose of the canister inside the aquarium is labour consuming. I'd have to clean it up daily since I have a pleco.

Please advice if my buying choises are stupid.

Thanx.

What are the hose sizes for each filter? If they are the same I would not worry about it. If the first filter uses signifigantly smaller tubing I would suspect that your flow will be sub-optimal.

I would suggest doing some internet research on the tubing supplied with each fitler.
