I have 3 small hybrid gar. I just got them about a week ago, Labeled as Marble line gar I got them a olive green color and now about a week later they are turning gray/Silver. What am I doing wrong, they are also all huddled together in a corner of my tank.... wasting the whole tank literally... at least they are eating well..

As long as they are eating, don't worry about it. They're probably still in the adjustment phase. They're new to the tank. My gar were very meek and passive when they were young. It took me forever to get them to eat.

How long did they huddle in the corner of your tank?
thanks for the quick reply

marble line gar? that sounds like it has part alligator in it. you know its prob gonna get huge

yea it was tagged marble line my source bought it from a man that sold it as alligator gar which it is clear that is not. Then My source gave me a super sweet deal on these gray gar saying the guy got busted selling them and he sold them to me to get rid of them (almost nothing )...that was confusing... so while I dont think they are pure alligator gar... what hybrid they are (if they are one) is beyond me... I might take a picture later and you can tell me what you think.

1 there is a 99.9% chance that u dont have hybrids. pics would help though.
2 marble line gar tends to be a common name for florida gar. they are also the most common.
3 how big are they? what size is ur tank? all other params for ur tank will help as well
4 if they are eatting well then they are most likly doin well. they are prob just uncomfortable with ur tank.
