Hi,

I've got a few melanochromis in my 55g, and was wondering what to feed them. At the moment, they're on flake (regular, and cichlid), some regular pellets, and occasionally freeze dried krill and brine shrimp.

I have a few blocks of frozen blood worm left from my previous setup, and the guy at the LFS said that it's ok if I slowly get ride of them by feeding them to the africans, but I'm not sure....

What do you guys suggest? Is the rest of their diet ok?

Thanks

I would definitely stay away from the Krill, and worms. Melanochromis are primarily vegetarians. To much meat proteins in their diet can cause health problems like bloat. I would stick with the veggie flake and pellets.

I feed all of my Africans New Life Spectrum. They get weekly treats of what ever else I have laying around in the form of samples and raffel winnings.

Give them more veggies.

mine love sliced and frozen veggies.. they eat cucumber, Zucchini and yellow squash. I also buy spirulina (its a green algae) that a seller has on ebay.. they loove that stuff.
