Am I mentally ill?

I used a dozen feeder goldfish to cycle my 1000 gal pond, and about half of them survived the first week. Now, believe it or not, I have grown quite fond of the little guys. I mean, come on, they nibble at my fingers, and they're getting so big...

I want to put my two oscars in there, and of course they will eat them up. Should I be locked up for getting attached to a bunch of 25 cent silly feeder goldfish???

You could wait till the goldfish got to large to eat and then add the oscars.

nothing wrong with goldies more contests and awards given for goldfish then any other speices in fact that how i stared had a couple of bubble eyes

large oscars most likely already know what a goldfish taste like

Nah, I cycled my pond with feeders and planned on ditching them later to go native, but in the end I kept the goldfish. I brought them inside for the winter because my mom wanted to drain the pond, and my prawn ended up eating all of them anyways.

I guess I'll just go native next year.
