I'm currently not overstocked, because all of these fish are still growing, but I'm curious if I will be overstocked down the road. I have a huge wet/dry and 2 AC110s on the tank. I have these fish in a 125 gallon.

Gutalatum
Pearsi
Argentae
Bocourti
Lyonsi
Hartwegi

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Monty

At adult size, I'd suggest 2 or 3 max for a 125. Pearsei in particular get massive, and one might be enough for that tank.

That said, it is difficult to make tanks work with just 2 or 3 fish in close quarters. There will almost always be friction. I'd try to get a nice pair (if you can find mates for your existing fish) and plan on having those two fish, a cat or two, and half a dozen targets/dithers like silver dollars.

I'm starting to think that I need to really thin down the total number of fish that I have. I didn't think that Pearsi got very big? I have had one for 3 months now and he hasn't grown a bit.

It's going to take a while, but I think you will be a little overstocked down the road. The Pearsi and Bocourti both are going to get huge. I would get rid of one of them later down the road and I think you should be OK. I'd wait to see if you have any that have to be removed due to aggression first and if all works out I'd just choose between the pearsi and Bocourti.

W/e you do keep the lyonsi!

He is very small at the moment. They seem to have a ton of personality though. I'm thinking that the fish I listed will be able to stay in there for another 6 months to a year without much trouble. I don't have much experience with Bocourti. Are they as passive as the pearsei when they get older?
