depends on the aggression level and territory set-up. and if you want your fish to breed or not.

not at all actually it is under used you could add 5-10 more small sized cichlids.. If you guys would see my tanks. You would be blasting me... BAD.

I actually agree with you.. depending on what set-up is wanted and what the filters can handle, and how much work your willing to do. Old school cram cichlids together so their territories are constantly challenged if you just want a showpeice. If you intend to try and breed them, allowences for space should be given as a general rule, and I've never had a problem with this "general rule"
