I have a 180 gallon tank with a eshopps 300 gal rated wetdry with a mag 18 running. I have two 100gph powerheads (one with filter sponge) and an airstone circulating water.

My stock list is as follows:

2 geo. altifrons
2 geo. steinachneri
1 satanoperca
1 threadfin geo (hecklii)
1 red severum
1 green sevrum
1 yellow sevrum
10 silver dollars
1 polka dot synodontis
1 albino common pleco
1 hifin asian pleco
1 fire eel
1 (seemingly stunted, bought that way) 11" silver arowana

Will these fish be okay in the 180 for life? Can I add more fish safely if all is maintained well. Parameters all normal: pH, ammonia, nitrates/nitrites, no unexplained deaths. Thanks.

PS: Also, I have seen some crazy overstocked tanks and by comparison this does not seem bad. I am merely asking your opinion based on your own experience. Please no un-warranted criticism. Constructive criticism gratefully accepted.

nice list, can we see some pics

Short answer is not for life. Arowana and the 10 silver dollars push it over :) In any case, For now, just monitor the water; I don't particularly see any compatibility issues as long as the fish size are similar.

You seem nicely stocked to me....10 Silver Dollars alone is formidable once they mature.....The aro will outgrow the tank eventually. I would watch em all grow up for a while! Pics would be great!

I will try to clean the tank before I post some good pics. However Id like to reiterate that the arowana may be stunted as it has been 11" for about 3 months now. That is uncommon. Perhaps I have been underfeeding him? He doesnt exactly get to de frosted krill so well unless its floating. I just added the steinys today (couldnt resist the buy 2/$35)

somebody on the forum is also selling 1 8" geo abalios and 1 8" surinamensis and I am highly tempted. I love geos

To me it's overstocked, but I always tend to stock lightly. My 300 currently has 5 cichlids, 4 medium plecos(l75 and l204) and 6 silver dollars. This tank is full in my eyes since I stock based on largest potential adult size. Opinions vary and I know lots of folks say I can add more fish. I'm just not sure that I should....

Best of luck with your setup!

with adequate WCs id say ur good to go, if the aro grows you'll have to move it as u already know but other than that as long as ur doing good WCs i dont see it overstocked, if i was gonna get 2 more geos i would sell off the silver dollars though
