im wondering if my tanks overstocked

29 gallon planted, fluval 205

10x giant danio
2 chinese algae eater
striped raphael cat
spotted raphael cat
single male convict

ya but it still might work.keep up on water changes and make sure you are really overfiltered, and keep up with testing water quality, with the 205 maybe adda small hob filter

what if i remove the convict, a cae, and the striped raph...

so its
10x giant danio
chinese algae eater
spotted raphael cat

The Raphael cats do not have as much of an impact on your bioload as you may think, don't split the catfish as they prefer security in numbers. Honestly I would say you still have room to spare, maybe a female convict?? Let me know what you think..

Giant Danios are a bad choice. They need space to swim fast in one direction. As they get larger, they are really bad about nipping fins. I personally would get rid of the catfish, simply because of how reclusive they are. A spotted pictus would be a prettier and more active addition to the tank. chinese algae eaters tend to be a bad choice in general, simply because they can become very aggressive at adult size.

+1 on the cae, I had one that actually clinged on to one of my cichlids! Awesome whencthey are small but once they get bigger man they are aggressive and hardly touch algae
