I wanna go get some plants the afternoon for my 2 of my 55g growout tanks, but I want to know if I have any fish that will not allow it.

8" Male Jack(he uproots but doesnt destroy)
4.5" Female JAck
5" Oscar
3" Pearl Cichlid
3" Green Terror
4 5-6" Tinfoil Barbs
3-4" Severum
4" Pictus Cat
4" African featherfin Cat

Also any hardy plant reccomendations would be appreciated (planting in large but deep gravel, with sunlight only from window)

Pretty much everything you have besides the cats is gonna tear plants up. If you got any plants at all I would go with only anubias and maybe some swords, but be sure to have them very well secured in the gravel, because cichlids love rearranging.

Yup my GT, and Jack love re decorating. I got fake plants and they rip them out and drag them around like there really proud of what they did, its funny but I would never waste money on real pants.

Yeah, my 8" jack loved to remodel his home(rocks and even his big cave, no plants because there were none), but since being introduced last week to a tank with other fish and a mate (awww love birds...) he hasnt touched any of the fake plants. I have one of those big fake vine plants that are real long and flow with the water, and also several divider plants that serve as a buffer between my beach area (white small gravel) and River Gravel (big natural color gravel).

What about Willow Leaf Hygro (Hygrophila angustifolia)? Net says its grows fast and can be in any substrate or even free float (if they get dug up).
