its 9 x 3 x 3 ft with a 200 gallon sump so roughly 3000 litres

heres what id like

3 x red hook SD's
3 x common SD's
4 x spotted SD's
6 x clown loaches
1 x sun catfish
1 x lima shovelnose
1 x green terror
1 x jaguar chiclid
1 x silver aro
3 x common plecs
1 x red tailed black shark (but dunno if hed be too small and get eaten)
1 x fire eel
2 x senegal birchirs
1 x giant gourami
1 x clown knife
1 x green sev
2 x rope fish
1 x gold sev
2 x uaru
2 x striped rapheals
2 x kissing gouramis
6 x tinfoil barbs

also all fish will be brought young

any help apreciated as im going insane thinking about it:nilly::ROFL:

also hello everyone

yeah thats what i mean i dunno if its just too much or not really i know that sounds dumb but hey you guys are the experts so i thought id ask you

That is a lot of fish. Besides that, the main thing that I see is you will have a lot of predation issues. Clown loaches, red tail shark, and a couple others will probably get eaten as the aro quickly outgrows everyone.

so if i let the others grow then add the aro would that be ok

or is it a case of a adult aro will eat a adult clown loach etc

1 x silver aro all the above fish are ok... this is where your problem starts. the aro's gonna outgrow everything quickly, and the other fishes' growth rate wont be able to keep up (except maybe the catfish and cichlids...). the CLs will get eaten in no time, as will your RTS, and possibly the kissing gouramis.
3 x common plecs
1 x red tailed black shark (but dunno if hed be too small and get eaten) he will, id give him a month in that tank if every fish was bought at the same size.
1 x fire eel
2 x senegal birchirs
1 x giant gourami
1 x clown knife wouldnt be an ssue if you didnt have as many other fish.
1 x green sev
2 x rope fish
1 x gold sev
2 x uaru
2 x striped rapheals
2 x kissing gouramis
6 x tinfoil barbs these may present the largest problem as far as crowding goes... youve got 6 1'+ fish that never wanna stop moving, with lots of other slow fish in their way.

well, my opinions are in red. if you ditch the aro, CK, and tinfoil barbs then i think the tank stock will work very very well and look great. except that RTS. he'll be eaten. i know its a 9-foot tank but thats a LOT of fish. hope i helped :)

yeah you did the only thing is i live in my parents house and my dad seems to really like aro's in shops

so even if i got the aro when all the fish were aldults

would it still eat them if so is there a similar alternative you can suggest

and yeah the shark is out then

the tinfoils are gone as i can see what you mean and makes total sense

so if i went with this

3 x red hook SD's
3 x common SD's
4 x spotted SD's
6 x clown loaches
1 x sun catfish
1 x lima shovelnose
1 x green terror
1 x jaguar chiclid
3 x common plecs
1 x fire eel
2 x senegal birchirs
1 x giant gourami
1 x green sev
2 x rope fish
1 x gold sev
2 x uaru
2 x striped rapheals
2 x kissing gouramis
2 x pink caracins

would i be maxed out with the above

could i have a ghost knife maybe ?

or could i have below

thanks

if you really want the aro, i would wait till all your fish are at least 8" or so (this will take a long time for the CLs which is why i suggested forgetting the aro.), i guess you could manage a ghost knife, its definitely a less predatory species than the CK so i think you could manage. BUT, im kinda hesitant about that... maybe pick between the ghost and the aro?

hmm ok if i didnt have the arro or knife could a have the last list but with a few more mid sized fish eg auru if so any suggestions
