Am I the only one Who has had fish that were living happily together then one day start pissing each other off and one ends up killing the other, its happened to me a few times now, most recently my Lmb chased my red ear sunfish to death after living together for 4 months with no problem...

Far from the only one. Hell, that even happens with people and we can get up and go outside if we want.

haha, true, its just very dissappointing, and normally its like you hit that stasis period where youve had the same fish in the same environment for a long time and it seems like nothing can disrupt their tranquility, then one of them flips.

Cichlids do this ALL the time. It irks me when people blame other fish in the tank for a death and defend their "peaceful" cichlid

Been there a few times, last time it was with african peacocks, it was a peacfull tank for months but as soo as the dominant male decided he wanted to breed he was the biggest pain in the ass, chasing the fish around the tank and keeping them cornerd.

After a few days of this his tankmates were too scared to move from the corner, they wouldnt eat, just stayed in their corner and even then they wernt safe, he would slowly swim up to them, pick one out and seperate it form the other and chase it around the tank. he was one sadistic fish, i traded his ass in lol.

i keep things that are never meant to be kept together. thats why i dont have them anymore

I had two male severums in a 125 for 5 YEARS! Raised from juvies together and everything. For some reason like 5 months ago one of them went crazy and is now constantly beating on the other. Sucks because I don't have anywhere to put the beat up one. :(
