State of chaos
i got 2 Amano Shrimp yesterday. i was gonna do a water change today but they were nowhere to be found! i ripped apart the tank and found no Amano Shrimp. During acclimation yesterday, i accidentally learned that they can "walk" on land so i was worried. i turned off the filter and suddenly one appeared on the intake. BINGO.
i took the cartridge out and all of a sudden something started zipping around. apparently he was clinging to the catridge. the vents on the intake are no wide enough for them to get in, so it seems they jumped through the stream coming out of the filter and just hung around in it. for obvious reasons i really dont want them inside my filter, but how do i keep them out?

(If it helps the model filter is a Tetra PF10)

They wouldn't be able to jump up into the stream. Its too strong for them.
They probably squeezed in through the intake, so take a sponge and make a hole in it and put it on the intake grates so that it acts as a prefilter

If there are any types of algae growing on the part of the filter where the water comes out, clean it. I've found cherry shrimps crawling up those against the current into my filters. Otherwise... yeah. Put a sponge over the intake. (Make sure the part where the water comes out isn't in the tank water, may have to lower the water level in your tank)
